You never know who might be paying a visit out in the country.
The other night, my wife opened the front door and announced there was a large animal in the front yard, the size of a bear or cow.
I figured a bear out on the grasslands of eastern El Paso County was unlikely, but I didn’t think there was much chance a cow had stopped by, either. Probably a big dog. But the beam of a flashlight confirmed that it was, indeed, a cow, who quickly rushed out of sight. Turns out there are some gaps in the fencing of a ranch not too far away, and it’s not the first time cattle have escaped to come investigate the neighborhood.
