My column today on Gadget the ranch dog struck a chord with dog owners. Not that I’m surprised; anyone who has been a dog owner for some time knows the pain of losing man’s best friend. I particularly appreciated this email from a fellow Falcon resident, Diana Petherick:
“I so much enjoyed reading about Gadget this morning in the Gazette. What a wonderful little sprite she was! I wanted to take a moment to tell you how sorry I am for your unexpected loss. I have lost five dogs in my lifetime, and they all rip a piece of your heart away and take it with them when they go. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Thank you again for sharing your memories of Gadget with us.”
