The Greater Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce announced its awards recently for 2013.
Topping the list was Team Telecycle for Business of the Year and the newly renovated Gold Hill Theatres for Project of the Year.
Team Telecycle has been serving Teller County cyclists for almost 30 years. Owner Paul Magnuson is a Specialized dealer whose main focus is mountain bikes in the town that sits at about 8,000 feet. He offers full repair service and, according to the Chamber of Commerce, is dedicated to introducing cycling to youth.
The Gold Hill Theatres project, bumped the small movie house from two to four screens and added upgrades to all digital equipment in order to improve picture and sound. Ed Shirk and Bill Page, the owners of the theatre near U.S. 24 and State Highway 67, also recently added beer and wine sales for patrons 21 and older.
Here are the rest of the Chamber’s award recipients:
- Volunteer of the Year: Janet Bennett with Teller County Search and Rescue
- Nonprofit of the Year: Community Partnership Family Resource Center
- Employee of the Year (tie): Pat Hill, Pikes Peak Courier, and Sally Riley, City of Woodland Park planning director
- Wagon Boss: Neil Levy
The awards will be presented March 14 at the Chamber’s annual dinner. The event will be at Cheyenne Mountian Resort. Tickets can be obtained by contacting the Chamber office at 719-687-9885.
