The Teller County town of Victor will celebrate its newly renovated ice rink on Dec. 14.

According to a report from The Mountain Jackpot, the rink at Brian’s Park was identified as a “community asset” in 2012. The city made the much-needed renovations part of its parks master plan and applied for grants through Great Outdoors Colorado.

The grant solicitation was a success. GOCO gave Victor $350,000. The Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mine gave another $150,000 and the city pitched in $65,000.

The grand opening will be at 2 p.m. on Dec. 14. Those who gave money will be honored and there will be a public skate around the Christmas tree.
