On Monday, Feb. 3, crews will begin installing a new water pipeline on Constitution Avenue between Powers Boulevard and Marksheffel Road.

As a result, traffic restrictions wil

l be implemented during the 10-month project and alternate routes are advised to avoid delays.

Initially, westbound Constitution Avenue will be reduced to one lane between Marksheffel Road and west of Akers Drive.

North Carefree Drive is recommended for easier access to El Paso County facilities on Akers.

The work is part of the Southern Delivery System project, which will transport water from Pueblo Reservoir to the new treatment plant – currently under construction south of Highway 24 and east of Marksheffel – then into the existing Colorado Springs Utilities water system.

Colorado Springs Utilities will provide traffic updates using news advisories and social media, and at www.SDSwater.org.
