LaForet Trail work postponed until spring

Work on the LaForet Trail under I-25, originally set to begin Feb. 1, has been postponed until late spring when it’s warmer and the ice under the bridge melts.
Once the ice is gone, crews will move back to the area to complete concrete work.
That work is expected to close the trail under the bridge for about a month.
Meantime, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation, there may be 2-lane closures of both the northbound and southbound I-25 to allow crews to patch potholes on theĀ  interstate between Woodmen Road and State Highway 105 in Monument.
Crews are still exposed to traffic as guardrail, signs and lights are being installed along the corridor. Those single-lane closures will take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for light, guardrail and sign installation.
