The ramp from northbound Interstate 25 to eastbound U.S. 24 — that’s at exit 139 — will be closed for the next few days as work continues on the Fountain Creek Bridge.
According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, ramp closures will occur:

  • Thursday, December 12 – 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Friday, December 13 – 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, December 15 – 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

While the ramp is closed, drivers can use the Circle Drive, Academy Boulevard or State Highway 16 exits to access areas served by U.S. 24, east of I-25.

CDOT is replacing the expansion joints to extend the lifespan of the bridge, according to a news release.

Joints have been replaced on 15 other bridges in Colorado Springs.
