Colorado Springs basketball received a good amount of recognition when five area players were named to The Show all-star rosters.

Dylan Clark of Sand Creek and Ghassan Nehme of Cheyenne Mountain will take part in the boys’ game, while Shelby Patterson (Peyton), Mikayla Reese (Sand Creek) and Kylee Shook (Mesa Ridge) will play in the girls’ game.

The annual all-star games take place at the Pepsi Center in Denver and honors the best players around the state chosen by a panel of media. This year’s games will be April 12. Both games will be played before the Nuggets host the Utah Jazz.

Clark, Nehme, Patterson and Shook all have teams still alive in the state basketball tournaments.

Clark, who averages 19.9 points per game and 6.3 rebounds, is headed to Air Force in the fall.

Nehme, whose 27.0 ppg is more than four points better than his nearest competitor in Class 4A, will play for Montana State next season.

Reese is signed to play for Southern Methodist. She averaged 12.0 ppg and 4.1 assists on a Scorpions team that reached the quarterfinals.

Shook, whose undefeated Grizzlies will play in the semifinals Thursday, averages 13.4 points and 10.2 rebounds. She’s only a sophomore and has yet to commit to a college team.

Patterson ranks third in 2A with an average of 19.0 points.
