KOAA-TV sports director Jordan Mason has left the station. His last day at the NBC affiliate is today (Friday). Earlier this afternoon KOAA anchor Rob Quirk posted this message from Mason on his Facebook page:

“It’s a bittersweet day. Today will be my last broadcast for KOAA-TV. After nearly eight years with the station, I’ve decided to pursue new challenges and adventures. My wife and I are excited for the next chapter in our lives (BTW — future plans are TBA). I had so many great experiences, learned so much, and made some lifelong friends. It was truly an honor to be part of the KOAA team that included some Colorado broadcasting icons — including the late Lee Douglas, whose impression on me is never forgotten. Much thanks to those and other fantastic people at KOAA (many of whom have moved on) who made my time here so special.”

KOAA’s director of marketing Sydney Rubin confirmed Mason’s departure via email. She stated that Grant Meech will take on the sports director position. Mason came to KOAA from KOBI in Medford, OR. The Pepperdine grad had been with the station since 2006.
