If you thought it was tough to get tickets to the Great American Beer Festival, just wait until you see the lines at Bristol Brewing Co. on Sunday, when the Colorado Springs brewery begins pre-sales of its mega-popular Venetucci Pumpkin Ale.
Bristol makes the beer out of real pumpkins from the Venetucci Farm in Security/Widefield, where generations of kids have gotten free pumpkins each Halloween. It’s far and above the best pumpkin beer I have ever had. We did a blind taste test last year along with a handful of other pumpkin beers, and all the testers agreed Venetucci is the best.
Maybe that’s why it’s so hard to get. Most liquor stores already have waiting lists for the precious few bottles, and Bristol always sells out the day they go on sale.
To try to spread the wealth, people will be limited to three bottles when the pre-sale begins at 10 a.m. Sunday in the hall of the former Ivywild Elementary School. Bring an ID and cash or a credit card. There’s no word on when you’ll be able to pick up the beer, but it will certainly be before Halloween.
Don’t be surprised if folks are lined up well before 10 a.m.
And good luck!
