What do beer and space exploration have in common?

Too much of either one will leave you nauseous and light-headed.

But seriously. Space-age technology plays a key role in beer production these days, from the Global Positioning System that helps farmers grow better barley, to refrigeration and filtration. The Space Foundation in Colorado Springs and the Beer Drinker’s Guide to Colorado want to show you all the ways this technology has improved beer.

Of course, you can enjoy some local brews in the process. “Rockets in my Beer” is Saturday, Aug. 10, from 2-6 p.m. at the Space Foundation Discovery Center, 4425 Arrowswest Drive in Colorado Springs. Tickets are $24, which includes admission into the Discovery Center.  Click here for more details and to order tickets.

Participating breweries include:

    Bristol Brewing Company
    Colorado Mountain Brewery
    Great Storm Brewing
    Paradox Beer Company
    Pikes Peak Brewing Company
    Red Leg Brewing Company
    Rocky Mountain Brewery
