What do the Broncos need in the NFL draft that begins Thursday?
Someone to snap the ball to Peyton Manning would be nice. The Super Bowl got off to a rotten start when the first snap sailed over the quarterback’s head. It got worse from there.
If the NFL draft is a medium to strengthen a team’s weaknesses, the defining play of Super Bowl XLVIII should be taken into account. The right man for the job is right up the road. Colorado State’s Weston Richburg is considered one of the top centers available in this draft. He’s projected to go on Day 2.
Maybe you don’t use a first-round pick on a center. I prefer linebackers C.J. Mosley or Ryan Shazier, if the Alabama or Ohio State products are there when the Broncos pick at No. 31. Cross your foam fingers.
Maybe you you look for offensive-line help in rounds 2-7. But when Manning is the quarterback and the Seahawks crushed the offensive line like my dog going to work on a new bone, you must look for help.
The Broncos could do worse than a Ram.
