Roll Tad: Buffs coach gets paid

Know who had a good day?

Tad Boyle.

Know how we know?

Tad got paid.

The CU Board of Regents approved a raise of about $700,000 annually for the Buffs basketball coach. That doubles his previous salary and brings the annual number to a nice, cool figure of roughly $1.49 million.

Such is the cost of keeping a coach on the rise. Former AD Mike Bohn told me in May that Boyle, again, had earned the attention of other programs looking for a basketball coach.

“I know that he was pursued. Nobody formally asked, but unfortunately, that’s the norm anymore,” Bohn said then. “I was aware there were several back-channel efforts.”

For as much grief as I’ve given the CU administration in this space: Good on you, Buffs.
