Welker: ‘It’s like a long hand-off’

One of the first questions usually asked of new Broncos is this one: What’s it like playing with Peyton Manning?

Wes Welker has a different view. He played with Tom Brady, another quarterback on the short list of best-of-a-generation.

Shortly after the Broncos wrapped up their minicamp this afternoon, Welker got the question.

“It’s everything you thought. Until you actually get out there with him (you don’t know),” Welker said. “The balls are so accurate. You come out of your break and the ball is just there. It’s almost like a long hand-off sometimes.”

And the obligatory Tim Tebow question. Welker knows the Patriots way better than anyone at Dove Valley. Asked if he has any advice for the former Broncos quarterback now playing with the Pats, Welker had this to say.

“No, I don’t. I don’t. Just good luck.”

Read into that what you will.
