According to a recent report by the Omaha World-Herald, yes, it is.
Nebraska authorities have seized Colorado marijuana on Interstates 76 and 80 and its “overrunning” western Nebraska communities and “smoking” through law enforcement budgets, according to the World-Herald.
“It’s a drug pipeline,” Deuel County Sheriff Adam Hayward told the Nebraska newspaper. “We’re just scratching the tip of the iceberg compared to what’s out there.”
Deuel County sits next to the northeastern corner of Colorado, where I-76 turns into I-80.
The report is pretty thorough. Read the full report here.
USA Today reported around the same time the World-Herald story came out that there haven’t been any major issues with surrounding states. More here.
