A Travel-style write-up posted on the Dallas Morning News website should make any Colorado Springs resident feel proud of the place they call home.

A web article called: “Catch the Olympic spirit in Colorado Springs”, points those that can’t make it to Russia for the Olympics to venture over to the Springs.

The article highlights the U.S. Olympic Training Center and the Feb. 7 Olympic celebration.

Here’s some of the story:

The city is home to the U.S. Olympic Committee and high-altitude sports training and youth competitions. More than two dozen national governing sports bodies have their headquarters here.

“The presence of the Olympic movement here has … strengthened our image as a health, wellness and sports destination,” said Doug Price, president of the Colorado Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau.
