Colorado Springs blogger Tara Hedman was recently named one of the top Mamapedia Voices for 2013.

Mamapedia highlights up-and-coming mom bloggers to well-known mom experts, according to its website. Hedman’s blog titled: “What Little Girls Wish Daddies Knew”, placed second out of 365 posts from across the country. Here is the full list.

It’s an excellent post. This is coming from a journalist and a father of a 5-year-old. Congratulations, Tara. Well deserved.

Hedman published her blog Dec. 14 and has more than 250 comments as of Dec. 31. Mamapedia published the blog on its site on Dec. 19.

In the blog’s intro, Hedman paints a picture with words of a recent moment in her life where she watched a young girl play on her dad’s lap.

“She’s probably four years old. So little, so vulnerable. She doesn’t seem concerned about it as she sings about teapots and ladybugs in her black Mary Janes. I feel myself tear up as I watch her. I tear up as I watch him watch her. She could not possibly know at four what impact this man, his character, or his words will have on her for years to come. And, maybe he doesn’t know either.”

Hedman then shares with her readers a list of 25 things little girls wish their daddies knew.
