Some Colorado ski towns are making the most out of the damaged trees left by those pesky mountain pine beetles.

Curbed Ski recently highlighted a few ski businesses that salvaged the wood and turned it into stylish wood trim and room décor. Take a look here. I’m impressed.

One Colorado ski company is the first manufacturer in the country to use the beetle kill wood to “shape a quiver of skis that will take you from the park to the powder,” according to Curbed Ski.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming months and years with all the damaged trees.
