Football fans of the Colorado Buffaloes need to step it up, apparently.
CU fans were called out Wednesday by a national sports publication for being one of the five most “insufferable fanbases” in college football.
Notre Dame fans lead the pack, followed by Miami fans, Ohio State and Penn State fans, who tie for third, Arkansas and finally, the Buffaloes.
Here is what For The Win, a USA Today blog, says about the 3-3 Buffaloes in its rankings.
“It’s really pretty in Boulder, which might be why Colorado fans haven’t attended home games with any reliability in a decade. When fans do stock the place and the Buffaloes start to lose, they tend to disappear somewhere in the second quarter”
Fans of Alabama, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Louisiana State University and Texas A&M are the most “beloved fanbases” in college football, according to the website.
Perhaps it’s not all on the fans. The Buffaloes haven’t finished a season with a winning record since the 2005-06 season.
Do Colorado fans deserve to be in the top five of the most “insufferable fanbases”?
I’ll let you decide.
