One of the balloons released at a memorial service in the Los Angeles area on Oct. 12 to honor a 16-year-old football player apparently safely floated all the way to northern Colorado.
A Boulder woman posted a photo of the balloon on her Instagram this week. She claims to have found the balloon, with the words #RIPDodi, outside her house. The balloon floated about 1,000 miles.
Dodi Soza collapsed on the football field during a football game in early October and died two days later, according to a report by KTLA. It’s not known why the teenager died. On Saturday, dozens of balloons were released.
The Boulder woman, whose Instragram name is @jennisnead, posted on her page that “this balloon just floated across my driveway out of nowhere.”
She quickly learned that it came from California after an online search of #RIPDodi.
