A local dog named Houdini not only disappeared from the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region recently, but also found a new home.
Houdini, a 5-year-old Australian Shepherd, snuck out of his kennel and past two doors to reach outside on Oct. 8, according to a KKTV report, and the TV station has video proof.
“He let himself out of the kennel around midnight…and let himself out of the building around 1 a.m.,” Gretchen Pressley, with the humane society, said. “He had to actually push down the handle, push the door open and walk out in both cases.”
Ashley Heister found the dog roaming the Lower Gold Camp Road area. Heister planned to adopt Houdini, according to the report.
