It’s a boy!
The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo posted on their blog that the month-old porcupette is most likely a boy. Even though keepers have checked out the little one, he’s still small enough that it’s hard to tell.
The baby North American porcupine was born May 8 to first-time parents Nale and Elan. Nale came to the zoo last summer, and Elan was born there.
