Donation barre classes

Published: June 2, 2014, 2:14 pm, by Jen Mulson

Belly up to the bar! The ballet bar, that is.

ReVibe Pilates and Bodywork will hold four Thursday barre classes and donate all monies received to Urban Peak, a local program that supports homeless youth and those at risk of becoming homeless. They work with kids ages 15-20 through street outreach, shelter, education, employment, housing, case management and healthcare coordination.

Essentially, you’ll do ballet and floor exercises – a combination of Pilates, yoga and ballet.

I took a barre class about a year and a half ago, and it was challenging. Repetitive exercises burned out my legs and the core workout was effective.

When: 5:45 p.m. Thursdays, June 5, 12, 26 and July 3
Where: ReVibe Pilates and Bodywork, 115 N. Tejon St., No. 110
Cost:
Free, all donations go to Urban Peak; 231-6430, revibepilates.com, urbanpeak.org
