What’s that I hear? The sound of yoga mats unfurling?
Why yes, it is, at two more new studios in town. Our yoga scene is growing like crazy, one down dog at a time.
Owner Amanda Neufeld held the grand opening of Yoga Studio Satya last weekend, where attendees could explore her interesting yoga wall. I’m planning to attend a class just as soon as instructor Therese Smith gets back from a training in California. There are lots of straps and “gizmos,” she says, that go with the Iyengar-based practice. In layperson’s terms, that means it’s a practice rich with alignment, which is good for everybody, and those with injuries, in particular.
The studio also offers a variety of other classes, including yin, gentle, restorative, hot, vinyasa, mat Pilates and Pilates on the wall.
