“The new executive chef, Joe Zamora, and his sous-chef, Kirkland Dunning, have worked together for several years at other venues in the region, to include The Pinery north of Colorado Springs in Black Forest,” Peterson said on its website. “Zamora graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in culinary arts and has been a chef for more than 20 years.”
The Club, open to airmen, families and retirees, operates on nonappropriated funds. It’s a gathering spot for many groups on the post.
Zamora said he’ll bring passion to the place.
“From the time I was a teenager, I have always had a passion for cooking and cooking for other people,” Zamora said. “I love it; I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. This job has opened up a new path for me and my career; it provides a lot of great opportunities.”
