Gentiva Hospice got the honor from the National Hospice and Pallative Care Organization.
The hospice educates workers and volunteers about veterans issues and needs. Gentiva also works with veterans organizations to ensure that patients get appropriate benefits.
“Our efforts to educate patients with military service about their veteran benefits and to be recognized for their sacrifices continue to grow,” Gentiva executive director Len Graybeal said in a news release.
The hospice has also presented veterans with certificates honoring their service, hosted an art event for children who lost their veteran parents and held a Veterans Day ceremony in 2013.
