Carson plans Piñon confabs

carsonTwo public meetings are planned to discuss planned changes at Fort Carson’s Piñon Canyon Maneuver Site.
The post has filed its intention to seek a new Environmental Impact Statement for the 235,000-acre training area and wants to allow more activities including the use of larger drones there.
“Fort Carson will host two public scoping meetings to provide the public with information about the Piñon Canyon Maneuver Site Environmental Impact Statement on May 6 at 6:30 p.m. at Trinidad State Junior College, Trinidad, and May 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Otero Junior College in La Junta,” the post said in a news release.
The public will be asked to comment on the post’s proposal during the meetings.
“The proposed action does not include, nor would it require, expansion,” Fort Carson said.
