space commandRetired Air Force Col. James E. Moschgat, has been picked to deliver the May 9 graduation address at Pueblo Community College.
Now the deputy commandant of Peterson’s National Security Space Institute, Moschgat is an Air Force Academy graduate whose life was deeply influenced by a janitor at the school.
That janitor, the late William Crawford, tutored cadets in leadership as he toiled in the dormitories. Few cadets knew that Crawford was a recipient of the Medal of Honor. In 1943, he charged enemy machine gun nests in Italy, braving fire to save the lives of his comrades.
The graduation is set for the Colorado State Fairgrounds.
