aflogoTwo Colorado Springs Air Force colonels made the most recent promotion list for brigadier general.

The two are among 30 colonels selected for promotion in a Thursday announcement from defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.

┬áCol. Evan M. Miller, the Air Force Academy’s vice-superintendent, made the cut along with Col. David W. Hicks, the vice-director of operations at Peterson Air Force Base’s North American Aerospace Defense Command.

The one-star nominations must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate and exact dates of promotion haven’t been released.

The Air Force carries about 150 brigadier generals on its roster, and the climb gets steeper from there. The service has 13 officers serving at his highest rank — four-star general.
