NRO official named top Air Force space civilian

space bossTroy Meink is the Air Force’s new undersecretary for space, Making him the top Pentagon advocate for all things on orbit.

He comes to the Pentagon from the National Reconnaissance Office, where he led “signals intelligence systems acquisition.”

Meink will play a key role in the future of Air Force Space Command, helping guide future plans.

He comes with a solid background in the space business and for the past decade has served as one of the to communications satellite experts in the government.

Meink replaces Richard W. McKinney, who retired Nov. 30 after three years on the job.
