Harrison High School is raising funds to help a youngster with cancer.

Leading the effort  is Damarcus McGill, a  student who is a 15-year leukemia survivor.

McGill had done a similar fundraiser last fall, inspiring the Harrison Marching Band to participate  at a Light the Night walk to raise awareness of blood cancers.

He and the high school’s  student  leadership team are  raising funds  through Make- a-Wish Foundation for a 7-year-old  child named Richard. The child, who  has leukemia, wants to go to Walt Disney World.

The goal is  to get $7,500 by March 20, according to an email announcement.
