Sophomore girls sought for summer leadership program

The Women’s Foundation of Colorado is calling for applications for the Girls’ Leadership Council program that will be held this summer at University of Denver.

The program  is geared to inspire young women to be future leaders, and philanthropists.

Two top program  participants  each will receive  the  $1,500 Dottie Lamm Leadership Award to be used for educational purposes.

Through a competitive application and interview process,  the foundation will  choose  20  high school sophomore girls to participate in the  one-week summer program to be held July 27 through  Aug. 1.

Those chosen  will participate in extensive team and skills-building activities.

Candidates who will be juniors during the 2014-2015 school year and are no older than 17, can apply. They should have  a strong academic record  and participation in  extracurricular, volunteer or paid experience in school and/or community.

They must be submitted by March 3 at 5 p.m.
