Future Engineers in grades 8 through 12 invited to summit

The 4th annual Colorado Engineers Summit will be held  9  a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Freedom Financial Services Expo Center, 3650 North Nevada.

Students in grades 8 through12 are invited to participate.
The event will include keynote speakers and educational  breakout sessions. Some of the topics include women in engineering, emerging technologies and engineering of the future, and how Colorado Springs businesses have world impact.
There will be a student showcase where middle and high school students will show off accomplishments.
Participants  will be able to mingle with professional engineers from  various companies. There will also be  booths providing STEM educational information. Several engineering schools will also be on hand to explain academic programs, including University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Colorado State University in Pueblo, Pikes Peak Community College, and Colorado School of Mines.
The event is $20 per family or  $10 a person. But it is only $5 per person or family if you bring along five canned good  for Care & Share. Students in groups of 20, will pay admission of $2 each.
There will also be a Dress for Success fashion show.
