Eric Pizana has been named executive director of Inside/Out Youth Services.
Pizana has been with the nonprofit organization since 2011, providing training  at schools and community organizations  on safety and other issues regarding  lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students.
Before joining  Inside/Outside, he worked at Urban Peak Colordo Springs in outreach for at risk and homless youth.
He  used Inside/Out services  when he was a student.
“”Coming out to my family was a devastating experience. Coming to Inside/Out I learned I was not alone and met other youth who attended my school,” he said in an email announcement. “There were adult volunteers who were proud of me before I was proud of myself.  Finding Inside/Out empowered me.”
The organization , which serves  youths age 13 to 22, provides support and discussion groups, supervised drop-in recreation, leadership opportunities, health education, suicide prevention, career building skills, as well as a food  pantry and clothing closet.  For more information visit insideoutys.org.
