Colorado Business Bank is scheduled to open its new downtown Springs location in May.
While more than a month away, the bank already is letting people know about the opening of its new branch at 118 E. Pikes Peak Ave.
The bank will hold an invitation only visitation of the new location from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday May 20.
The Denver-based bank continues to remodel the 4,000-square-foot space that is part of the Kinder Morgan building.
Colorado Business Bank is a part of CoBiz Bank, an e-mail to the Gazette states. The bank opened as Colorado Business Bank in April 1984, according to FDIC.gov. The bank changed its name to CoBiz Bank in 1997. The bank has 17 offices, six of them in Maricopa County, Ariz., and is working to open a Fort Collins branch around the same time as its Springs office.
CoBiz Bank is not a retail banker. It focuses on business-to-business banking, so the Colorado Springs branch will not have teller windows or drive-through windows. Business is conducted at individual desks. CoBiz Bank, and its holding company, CoBiz Financial, had slightly more than $2.7 billion in assets as of June 30, according to the FDIC.
