The owners of CJ’s Unique Boutique will close their downtown store at 107 N. Tejon St.  by February’s end.

The company is getting out of the clothing business and returning to its roots of manufacturing and sales of healing body lotions, butters, oils and other skin items, said Bobbie Peterson, store manager.

“The clothes have done well for us, but not great,” she said, “so we are going to put all our eggs in the skin care basket.”

CJ’s will move both the Tejon Street shop and its production facility, currently at Maizeland Road and North Academy Boulevard to a location on South Powers. Peterson did not know the address of the Powers Boulevard location on Wednesday.

“We make all the lotions, butters, soaps, oil sprays, and moisturizing skin care products here,” she said, “with an emphasis on babies and cloth diapers.”

All of CJ’s clothing at the Tejon Street location is 50 percent off, Petersons said, including already marked down clearance items.
