Today’s crime news:
One man suffered minor injuries during a domestic disturbance at an apartment on the east side of the city where a  gun was fired, Colorado Springs police said. (Read more here.)

A man jumped from a moving car during a police chase near downtown Colorado Springs Monday morning, police said.   (Read more here.)

Three men in ski masks jumped over the counter and robbed a the a TCF Bank branch on 4330 North Academy Blvd. Colorado Springs police said. (Read more here.)

Update:  The Mesa Ridge High School teacher arrested on suspicion of sexual assault had consensual sex with his student twice, according to court documents. (Read more here.)

Update: 20-year-old Nicholas Butson was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty last year to three of the nine robberies attributed to him, his brother and his father. (Read more here.)

Update: 21-year-old Isaiah Ramon Jackson was sentenced Monday to 65 years in prison in the fatal stabbing of a handyman who caught him burglarizing a neighbor’s apartment. (Read more here.)


Over the weekend: 

A man got away empty-handed Sunday after trying to rob an Everyday Store on the 1800 block of North Circle Drive, police said.  (Read more here.)

A person was robbed and shot in the leg Sunday night on the 1400 block of Academy Boulevard, Colorado Springs police said.  The shooter is suspected to be around 15 years old, police said. (Read more here.)
