A man Colorado Springs police say is suspected of embezzling a large sum of money is on the run, and they have asked for the public’s help to locate him.
Waldo Lovi, 41, allegedly embezzled $134,000 from a local businessman as his former employer was recovering from a lengthy illness, police said.
Barbara Miller, police spokeswoman, said the CSPD’s Financial Crimes Unit obtained an arrest warrant for Lovi on suspicion of felony theft in the third-degree.
“If convicted, a class-3 felony carries a prison term of 4 to 12 years,” Miller said.
Lovi is a mechanic by trade and could be working as a differential mechanic in Pueblo, according to police reports.
