Denver names captains; CC will later this offseason

Senior forward Grant Arnold of Centennial is the new Denver captain, coach Jim Montgomery announced Friday. Arnold will be backed by senior alternate captains Josiah Didier of Littleton; Joey LaLeggia of Burnaby, British Columbia and Daniel Doremus of Aspen.

“Grant has great leadership qualities in communicating and willing teammates to excel, while his assistants all have a great team-first attitude and compete daily at the highest level,” Montgomery said.

DU opens exhibition play against McGill on Saturday, Oct. 4 before starting the regular season against RPI on Oct. 17.

Colorado College coach Mike Haviland said the team leadership for the Tigers will be picked after he hires his assistants.
