The victory clinched the best-of-seven Central Hockey League championship series four games to one.

McMillin, who started the season in Great Britain’s Elite Ice Hockey League, returned to Texas after the holidays and recorded 31 points (18 assists) in 39 games, including the first assist on the empty-netter that clinched the title.

The Americans are the first CHL team to win back to back titles since the early 2000s, and only the third in league history.
