AFA’s Truehl makes AHA rookie team

TruehlThe play of Air Force freshman goalie Chris Truehl of Stoughton, Wis. did not go unnoticed. Truehl stepped in for injured senior goalie Jason Torf and played a big role in the Falcons increasing their Atlantic Hockey Association record eight consecutive top-four finishes.

Truehl appeared in 13 games, posting an 8-3-0 record with a 2.05 goals against average and a .920 saves percentage. Truehl had three shutouts this season.

Sacred Heart’s Justin Danforth and David Norris of American International College ended Atlantic Hockey Association action tied a top the rookie scoring list with 28 points apiece for the forwards, including 23 assists. C.J. Reuschlein of Army recorded 18 points (10 goals).

Defenseman Vince Muto of Niagara recorded 16 points (12 assists) while Mitch Nylen of Sacred Heart scored four goals and  handed out six assists for 10 points and a plus-5 rating.
