NCHC roundup: Race tightens up further

bigger NCHC logoElsewhere in the league, Western Michigan downed Miami 5-2, winning for the first time in almost a decade at Oxford, Ohio. Shane Berschbach scored twice for the Broncos.

No. 15 Denver scored two power-play goals including the tying tally by Trevor Moore to garner a 2-2 road tie at No. 5 St. Cloud State. DU won the shootout 3-2 for two points and moved into third place.

No. 16 North Dakota moved into a tie for first place with SCSU by downing visiting Nebraska-Omaha 4-2 thanks to three third-period goals. Senior goalie Clarke Saunders made 31 saves.

With the shootout win over CC, No. 17 Minnesota-Duluth is alone in fourth place followed by UNO in fifth and Western Michigan in sixth. The top six teams are separated by only four points.
