NCHC weekend wrap-up; standings update

bigger-NCHC-logo-300x300Five teams were within three points (one win) of first place in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference  standings after Minnesota-Duluth, CC’s road foe this weekend,  and Nebraska-Omaha both beat ranked opponents on Saturday. Here is USCHO’s look at the situation.

The Bulldogs swept No. 20 Western Michigan, 5-2and  3-1, for a road sweep.

Mavericks junior forward Dominic Zombo recorded a hat trick in a 8-6 win over No. 5 St. Cloud State to manage a home split against the league leaders, who won 5-3 on Friday. It was the highest-scoring conference game so far. All eight NCHC teams have 10 league games left.
