Gothberg UNDNorth Dakota sophomore goalie Zane Gothberg suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday’s practice and will be out for at least a couple weeks, according to the Grand Forks Herald.

Gothberg has a 1.76 goals against mark and a .923 saves percentage during No. 19 UND’s nine-game win streak headed into this weekend’s road series against No. 16 Denver.

Gothberg is 10-5-3 this season with 2.20 goals and .916 saves mark. Senior Clarke Saunders (2-2, 3.50 goals, .900 saves) is the likely starter this weekend.

Atlantic Hockey Commissioner, Robert M. DeGregorio, Jr. suspended Sacred Heart sophomore, Alex Vazzano, for two games under the leagues supplemental discipline policy.

Vazzano was given a major for contact to the head and a game misconduct at the 1:37 mark of the second period on Saturday night against Air Force.

DeGregorio and the Atlantic Hockey Supervisor of Officials, Gene Binda, reviewed video and determined that Vazzano’s actions were both dangerous and flagrant.  Vazzano will now sit out the Pioneers next two contests on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 against Niagara.
