The senior will be out until mid to late February after an MRI showed that he tore his right groin muscle on Dec. 30 while extending his leg to make a save late in the third period.
“We are hoping he can be back then,” Falcons coach Frank Serratore said. “We are hoping.”
The senior suffered the injury with about two minutes left in a 3-2 win over then-No. 4 Providence and managed to finish the Ledyard Bank Classic championship game despite the pain. He missed last weekend’s league road series against American International College
Torf missed 14 games two seasons ago when he tore his left groin muscle. He returned to lead the Falcons to the NCAAs.
