Colorado College Hockey, 2013-14Colorado College freshman Jaccob Slavin was able to get an earlier flight back to the United States from Sweden, the site of the 2014 world junior championship, where he played until Team USA was eliminated on Thursday.

He arrived at DIA last night at 6 p.m. and is expected to travel down to World Arena today to play for the Tigers against Brown, which rallied to tie No. 16 Denver 3-3 Friday night. olofsson check

Slavin does not seem concerned about jet lag after spending the last couple weeks in Sweden.

“He wants to play,” Tigers coach Scott Owens said.¬† “He said he’s rested and ready to go.”

His availability does depend on road conditions.

Gustav Olofsson has a good excuse for missing tonight’s game. The freshman defenseman will play for Team Sweden in the gold-medal game against¬† Finland at the world juniors in Malmo, Sweden.

Olofsson played a more physical game in a 2-1 semifinal win over Russia on Saturday, drawing an interference penalty and recording two shots.  He has a goal and four assists in six tournament games.
