SCSU coach Bob MotzkoNo. 1/2 Minnesota is thin at defenseman after Jake Parenteau suffered a broken leg this weekend. He is reportedly out up to 8 weeks.

This is the last weekend for most college hockey teams while a number, including Air Force, are already on their holiday break. The marquee match-up involving an NCHC team is league-leading No. 1/2 St. Cloud State hosting No. 9/10 Union, which is tied for first in the ECAC.

Here are this week’s polls: USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine, where Minnesota remains No. 1 by a single vote and USCHO, where the Huskies are tops.

CC’s road foe this weekend, No. 15 Wisconsin, swept Penn State 7-1 and 4-3 last weekend at the Kohl Center.

CC sophomore Hunter Fejes was a healthy scratch on Saturday after the Coyotes draft pick went 14 games without a point.

“It was good for him to sit and watch the game from a distance,” Tigers coach Scott Owens said.
