Former Tiger Cody Lampl, 27, was honored Friday when the first 2,000 Toledo Walleye fans received bobbleheads with Lampl’s likeness—bushy black beard and all.  Lampl skated in 64 Toledo games last season, leading the team in penalty minutes and scoring a career-best six goals during the regular season. He moved up the AHL, where he has played in 16 of the 23 St. John’s IceCaps games with one assist and 12 penalty minutes.

Iowa Wild defenseman  Brian Connelly recorded a goal and two assists in a 5-4 SO win over San Antonio Wednesday night. He leads the team with 11 points (11 assists).

Central Hockey League Commissioner Steve Ryan announced Wednesday that the league will expand up to two teams for the 2014-15 season. This past off-season saw the CHL expand to St. Charles, Missouri (St. Louis area) and Brampton, Ontario (Toronto area). The Denver Cutthroats joined the previous season.

Founded  in 1963 by the NHL, the CHL has 10 teams in eight U.S. states and one Canadian province.
