McElhinneyFormer Tigers goalie Curtis McElhinney may see more starts over the short term with an injury to starter Sergei Bobrovsky during a 1-0 victory Tuesday over the Lightning. He made eight saves in the final 15:47 to preserve the shutout.

CC senior Archie Skalbeck’s power-play goal is No. 3 in the NCHC’s top five goals video from last weekend.

The Team USA roster for the world juniors championship Dec. 26-Jan 5, 2014 was announced and CC freshmen defenseman Jaccob Slavin did not make the preliminary roster. He may still be in the mix as an alternate or injury replacement.

Fellow rookie blue-liner Gustav Olofsson is up for Team Sweden. That team will be announced sometime on Thursday.

Cindy Curley (Hudson, Mass.), Bill Guerin (Worcester, Mass.), Peter Karmanos, Jr. (Detroit, Mich.), Ron Mason (East Lansing, Mich.) and Doug Weight (Warren, Mich.) were enshrined in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Monday evening during a sold-out ceremony held at Sound Board at Motor City Casino in Detroit, Mich.
