Thursday reading: Air Force preseason ranking; previews; NCHC weekend schedule

Bosner vs BC MAK (2)Air Force was ranked No. 30 out of the 35 college hockey teams that play in eastern conferences. Well, at least they get the chance  to prove them wrong. In case you missed, it, ALL AFA sports teams are back in action.

RIT opens AHA play at Colgate (1-1) tonight.

The Western Michigan beat writer previews the Broncos‘ season and looks at the other seven NCHC teams.

Minnesota-Duluth may have more depth and talent than thought thanks to the contributions of the Bulldog freshmen.

Minnesota State, one of the favorites to win the WCHA, continues to develop under second-year coach Mike Hastings.

Friday: Bemidji State at St. Cloud State; Bentley at Nebraska-Omaha; Merrimack at Denver; Miami at Ohio State; Michigan Tech at Minnesota-Duluth; Vermont at North Dakota; and Western Michigan at Notre Dame.

Saturday: Bemidji State at St. Cloud State; Bentley at Nebraska-Omaha;  Merrimack at Denver; Michigan Tech at Minnesota-Duluth; Notre Dame at Western Michigan; Ohio State at Miami; Vermont at North Dakota; USA U-18 at Colorado College (exhibition).
